It is supposed to be running Microsoft Windows Media Centre Edition 2005 as the operating system, but for some reason it has Windows 7 Home Premium on it. All Sony Vaio recovery files have gone, my screen has pink or sometimes green perforated lines running vertical on it. Occasionally, for a very short period, it will clear and be perfect, but alas it always returns.
